Your credit union is a service agency for the Alabama-West Florida
Conference and is open for membership to all ministers of the
Conference including all their family members, Conference employees,
employees of local churches, and employees of institutions owned by,
or affiliated with, the Annual Conference. Membership is established
by completing a membership card and sending it with $51 to the AL-W
FL Methodist Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 646, Georgiana, AL
36033. Of the $51, a deposit of $50 is made to your account, and the
remaining $1 covers the membership fee. Dividends are paid on all
share account balances of $100 or more. Deposits are insured by
NCUSIF, the strongest of the Federal Insurance Programs.
A variety of low cost, simple interest loans is available from the
Credit Union. These include loans for new and used autos, boats,
R.V.s, home improvements, tractors, mowers, office equipment, etc.
Also, signature loans are available up to $4,000 for a term of up to
two years.
The Credit Union is administered by a nine member Board of Directors
elected by those attending the Annual Membership Meeting in January
of each year. Directors are elected for terms of three years and may
be elected to succeed themselves. The Board is required to meet at
least once a month to give oversight to the operation of the Credit
Union. Dividends are paid quarterly and statements are sent at the
end of each quarter. Dividend rates are set the last month of each
quarter by the Directors.
Since the Credit Union was organized in 1967, we have made loans
totaling $16,000,141. |
